IFERROR() function

Use the IFERROR function to detect and handle errors in calculations and other functions.  The function returns the successful results or the value you specify if an error occurs, allowing for a clean, manageable, and friendly report.  

Use

Use the IFERROR function to intelligently handle errors, report meaningful information in the event of an error, and avoid spreadsheet breakdown when errors occur.  Use the IFERROR function to catch the following types of errors: #N/A, #VALUE!, #REF!, #DIV/0!, #NAME?, or #NULL!.  

Syntax

IFERROR(value, value_if_error)

  • the value argument contains the expression you want evaluated for an error
  • the value_if_error argument contains the return value, should an error occur
